Computer Classes for Adults
Computer Class Information
Q: How do I find out what classes WRL offers?
A: Class schedules are published on a monthly basis. Click the tab above for a printable schedule of the current month’s classes, or pick up a class brochure on your next visit to the Library.
Q: Is there a charge?
Q: Do you have classes for seniors?
A: We organize our classes by topic and skill level, not by age group. Any adult who meets the prerequisites is welcome in any class.
Q: Do I need to sign up in advance?
A: Yes. Some classes fill up quickly, so register as early as you can.
Q: Are there other options if I don’t see a class that fits my needs or my schedule?
A: WRL offers weekly walk-in help courtesy of our computer volunteers. Or you can schedule a Book-a-Librarian session, a one-on-one appointment with a professional librarian. Click the appropriate tab above for more information.
Q: Can you teach me how to use my phone?
A: Sorry, no. Check with your phone provider for instructions and help.
Do you need help with basic computer skills, using WRL’s downloadable collections, or applying for a job online? Williamsburg Regional Library offers 30-minute appointments with professional librarians for technology assistance. WRL library card holders may make one appointment per calendar month. Use this form to sign up.
For all other questions--personalized reading suggestions; getting started with your research; finding magazine or newspaper articles; or help with genealogy, business, or other WRL resources--librarians at the reference desk at either library location will be happy to help.
Librarians are unable to assist with computer troubleshooting, setting up a laptop, credit card transactions, or typing documents.
For more information, visit the Adult Services Reference Desk or call 259-4050.
